Mathew and Fufu, have a cameo appearance in the third book and become more regular characters later on. Matt seems to have two sides one that is mentally a five year old that just wants to run around and have fun, and then the other that is serious and alert to danger and problems which he will occasionally give brilliant insight to help the others solve. Fufu, his pet jackalope is the strong silent type...well silent anyway, he doesn't speak, he's only a jackalope afterall. But he appears to talk to Matt... ...yea they're fun.
